One sentence
BrickOS is a retro Android home launcher that pairs three distinctive interfaces with timed focus sessions and optional Lock Guard.
Approximately 50 words
BrickOS makes an Android phone feel like a tool again. The creator-led app combines three retro-inspired home interfaces with Brick Lock, a timed focus mode that keeps essential functions and chosen apps available while optional Lock Guard redirects the rest. The app is currently in closed beta.
Approximately 150 words
BrickOS is a retro Android home launcher and focus app from SgtZaddy Productions. It replaces the usual icon field with three purpose-built interfaces (Squares, Fruit, and MS) while keeping direct access to phone, messages, contacts, camera, gallery, music, maps, calendar, clock, alarms, calculator, and other chosen apps. A timed mode called Brick Lock lets the user choose a duration and approve the apps that should remain available. Optional Lock Guard uses Android Accessibility only to identify the app that came to the foreground during an active lock and return to BrickOS when that app is not approved; it cannot retrieve screen content. The free version uses credits for locks and skin changes, with optional rewarded ads to earn more. A one-time Premium purchase removes ads and credit limits. BrickOS requires no account, keeps its settings on the device, and is currently in closed beta for Android.
Full product description
Make your phone feel like a tool again.
BrickOS is a retro Android home launcher with three distinct interfaces, fast access to essential apps, and a timed focus mode called Brick Lock.
Switch between colorful tiles and two music-player-inspired layouts. Each skin has the same practical launcher tools with a different look and navigation style.
Open phone, messages, camera, gallery, music, calendar, clock, calculator, maps, and other launchable apps from one home screen. You choose which installed app BrickOS uses for supported shortcuts.
Brick Lock is the timer. Pick a duration and start it when you want to limit yourself to approved tools. Optional Lock Guard can return you to BrickOS when an unapproved app comes to the foreground during a session you started.
The free version can earn more credits through rewarded ads you choose to watch. A one-time BrickOS Premium purchase removes ads and unlocks unlimited Brick Lock sessions and skin changes.
No BrickOS account is required. Local settings and lock choices stay on the device.
